Music Ministry
The Assumption Parish music program encompasses service to the church and school. Each is uniquely different but vital to parish life.
Church Music Ministry
A combination of traditional and contemporary music is offered at the weekly 4:00 pm Saturday Vigil Mass, 9:30 am, and 11:30 am Sunday Masses throughout the liturgical year. During the school year, the Assumption Youth Choir sings at the 9:30 am Sunday Mass and the Assumption Adult Choir sings at the 11:30 am Sunday Mass. Weekend Masses are led by trained cantors and accompanied on the restored 1929 Midmer-Losh organ.
The outreach program includes visits to area nursing homes and televised Masses.
School Music Ministry
Students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth are offered Music Appreciation at least once weekly. In addition, Masses and prayer services are offered throughout the school year at which students are invited to participate. The Christmas program and Spring Musical are yearly traditions with the school involving the entire student body.
The outreach program includes invitations to area seniors for student performances as well as The Future Musicians, a program designed to teach first hand performance on instruments of interest in a school band setting. This band performs on and off campus.
